Fiancé(e) Visa UK
A Fiancé(e) of a British citizen or settled person can apply for entry clearance as a Fiancé(e) to come to get married. The Fiancé(e) visa is normally granted for 6 months to enable you to get married to the UK sponsor within the permitted 6 months period. After the marriage, the applicant is able to switch from a Fiancé(e) visa to a spouse visa from inside the UK.
The requirements to meet the criteria are pretty much the same as the entry clearance application of a spouse visa under the 5-year route. You cannot be granted entry clearance if you are not meeting the requirements listed in Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules.
The UK Fiancé(e) visa application is made online by completing an online application form. Following the submission of the application, the applicant is required to book an appointment with the relevant UK Visa Application Centre. The supporting documents in relation to the entry clearance application as a Fiancé(e) can either be uploaded online before the enrolment of biometrics or an assisted service can be purchased at the application centre to get your documents scanned.
You should also note that you can still get married in the UK on a standard visitor visa however the difference between a visitor visa and the Fiancé(e) visa is that you are able to switch your status to a spouse visa from inside the UK whereas, on a visitor visa, you cannot do that under the rules.
